Our Advanced Propulsion Teams are the visionaries in developing the next generation of powertrain components. These include new architectures, advanced energy storage, novel electric drives, cutting-edge power electronics, multifunction ancillary systems and other advanced powertrain commodities.
Consisting of the Propulsion Project teams that deliver the propulsion system into our vehicle architectures, colling, fuels and exhaust systems. Within this team, our Quality Project teams are focused on improving overall propulsion quality.
Our teams in this space deliver design, validation and delivery for core engine, transmission, driveline and hybrid power electronics systems to all new and existing engineering programmes.
Developing cutting-edge 800V electrical system components and system design, delivering class-leading electric passenger cars to a global market. It includes the integration of HV systems, on-board charging systems, and DC:DC power conversion.
Our HV Traction Batteries teams include the development of cells, cell stack assemblies, cell and stack cooling systems, battery management systems (hardware and software), frames and enclosure and the innovative use of structural adhesives and sealants.
Developing model-based control system design, software coding and compiling, and calibration of vehicle attributes through software and control system testing.
Driving quality and compliance in our software development, monitoring of international regulatory legislations, leading on design decisions and system structure to comply in all markets.
Work on the design and engineering of the world’s best electric motors, transmissions and advanced inverters creating an exceptional electric drive experience.
The Women in Engineering and Allies network champions gender inclusivity in engineering functions and continues to grow rapidly. Engaging female engineers to flourish and recognise their work and contribution to automotive development. The network has chapters across various sites and is fully aligned with the JLR employee-led diversity championing networks.
Led by a talented and dedicated committee of volunteers, the network has an active schedule of lunches, annual conferences, skills workshops and guest speakers. It is also active in supporting activities in schools, universities, careers fairs and internal JLR campaigns.
