I am a Commercial Undergraduate studying Economics and Management at Aston University.
Q: How have you found your first few months with JLR?
Having worked many jobs, JLR has without a doubt the best culture I have experienced. My team and wider department have been incredibly welcoming and supportive. What has surprised me most is the collaborative atmosphere where everyone is eager to share their knowledge and help each other succeed. The focus on innovation and continuous improvement creates an exciting environment where even my contributions feel valued. My department has also organised fantastic team building events such as a department sports day along with volunteering in the community. This dedication to promoting networking has created a very welcoming environment.
Q: Tell us about the early careers community / social element.
The early careers community have provided plenty of opportunities to connect with others in early career programmes through social events, networking activities and supporting with my formation of a football league. This has helped the transition into the workplace much easier and provided a sense of belonging from day one.
Q: What is something you want to achieve in your placement year?
During my placement year, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of the automotive industry, particularly from a project management perspective. I hope to contribute meaningfully to my team’s projects and build practical skills that will enhance my future career prospects.
