Fossil fuels have dominated automotive propulsion since cars were introduced, but our priorities are now very different. By the middle of the decade, Jaguar will have undergone a renaissance to emerge as a pure-electric luxury brand – and you could help shape this. You will become a key part of the team, working in multiple departments during your placement, helping you develop a well-rounded understanding of the business. Learning what it takes to deliver the high-quality propulsion systems of the future, you will evolve into an experienced member of the propulsion engineering community.

To develop your skills and competencies, you will operate in a range of different environments using a mixture of engineering tools such as Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer Aided Design (CAD), plus data analysis techniques while working closely with customer groups. The scheme will also feature a number of shadowing opportunities, and you will collaborate closely with your managers to identify options suitable for your learning and growth.

Our vehicle dynamics and off-road capability really set us apart, but we also focus on noise vibration harshness, door systems, headlamps, glazing and seats, with a remit spanning mechanical design, integration and systems engineering. Throughout the design and verification process, you will utilise both Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) toolsets to deliver the engineering specifications, with world-class system engineering tools to assist you in designing electromechanical control systems.

During your placement, you’ll work within one of our software teams to deliver best quality and reliable features that delight customers – gaining valuable insight into robust design and implementation and advanced validation techniques or developing tools and processes to support the work of our engineering teams.
