As our business and industry evolve, the role of strategy becomes more integral to unlocking and delivering value for JLR. Operating in a fast-paced, business-critical environment, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to shape our future.
One core thing you’ll work on is developing our enterprise strategy – leveraging the strength of the wider Tata Group and delivering our sustainability commitment as we approach net zero. Along the way, you could find yourself working with pivotal teams including Strategy, Strategy Deployment, Sustainability, Innovation, Tata Ecosystems or Global Financial Services. This diversity means that from one rotation to the next, you could move from exploring new innovations that elevate our customer experience, to driving our path to net zero, or even developing new business partnerships across the Tata Group.
You will need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in any degree discipline.
In addition, you will have real passion for problem-solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong numerical and interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.
Please note that to apply to our graduate programmes, you must have obtained a degree or be expecting to achieve your degree in the current academic year. All our graduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing September 2025.

The next stage is the virtual assessment centre. This consists of a presentation exercise and behavioural interview. You’ll be provided with a preparation guide to help you at this final stage.
We’ll share the outcome of your assessment centre within 2 weeks of you completing it. If you are successful, we’ll make you a verbal offer and confirm this in writing via email.
Before you join JLR, we’ll give you all the information you need through post-offer engagement events, online platforms and more. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, we’re here every step of the way.

Start with corporate and local inductions into JLR, in September 2025. Receive an overview of our business and future strategic direction, network with other joiners / key stakeholders including our DI networks and experience the workplace for the first time! You’ll also get more details of your graduate programme and learning curriculum, gain exposure to our vehicles and meet the early careers team, here to support you at every step.
The graduate programme will not only provide industry insight, but will help you develop key business skills including communication, self-management, problem solving, influencing and leadership. You’ll receive a blended learning approach over the course of year 1 including face-to-face workshops, virtual classrooms and on-demand content delivered by Ashorne Hill. Lifelong learning – To support your skills development and experiential learning, you’ll be given 20% protected off-the-job learning time, giving you the ability to further your development and achieve the requirements of your graduate programme.
Get the chance to tour one of our manufacturing sites and experience for yourself the transformation of our luxury vehicles. You might even get the chance to experience the capabilities of our vehicles first hand... Want to have even more fun? Join our Early Careers communities and enjoy fun social activities such as skiing, summer / Christmas parties, football and much more!
Manufacturing is the heart of our business operations and helps us deliver the exceptional vehicles we deliver to our customers. You’ll get the chance to undertake a week-long placement on the manufacturing line and gain an appreciation of the immense effort that goes into each vehicle we create. You’ll also have the option of a further 1-week experience in another business function such as early careers, commercial, company quality and others, to gain different insights and experiences than a typical day-to-day in your home department.
Own your own journey. Apply your degree to real-world business issues as part of your role. You’ll have the ability to complete rotational placements as part of your two-year programme, broadening your knowledge of the business function and building connections with new stakeholders. Expect to gain tangible examples on where you have positively impacted the business and further your personal and professional skills. Depending on your function, there may also be the opportunity for you to gain further qualifications during your 2nd year.
The GIC is an initiative run by JLR across year 2 of your programme. You’ll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to current business issues, working collaboratively with other JLR graduates globally. Your 20% off-the-job time will support your self-development and project work. Each group will have the opportunity to present their pioneering solutions to senior leaders within the business, with winners often receiving prizes and funding to incorporate their idea into JLR in the future!
Finish your graduate programme with a recognition event, designed to showcase your experiences and celebrate your fantastic achievements. You’ll have gained tons of knowledge and experience to thrive in your future career. We’ll hand out some exciting awards linked to our Creator’s Code - you could be amongst the winners! Upon successful completion of your graduate programme, we will offer you a substantive role within the business to continue your career journey and growth with us.
